ICFOSS Club

ICFOSS stands for the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software. It is an autonomous institution under the Government of Kerala, India, focused on promoting the use of free and open-source software (FOSS) and open standards.ICFOSS started the establishment of FOSS Clubs in educational institutions in 2015 to encourage faculty and students to adopt FOSS technologies and applications and to contribute to the community development in FOSS.

College of Applied Science, Adoor, has ICFOSS Club which works towards fostering innovation, contributing to digital empowerment, and promoting inclusive development through the adoption and advocacy of FOSS.

Our NSS Achievements:

The goal of the FOSS Club is to help faculty and students at the College make the most use of Free and Open Source Software and related fields like Open IoT/Hardware, Language Computing, Assistive Technology, Open Drone, and GIS, among others, by encouraging and promoting their use in these areas.

Major Activities:

  • Two- day workshop on “Introduction to Open Hardware”
  • Two- day workshop on “Free and Open Source Software Tools for Generative AI”
